Every drawer is 3.94 inches deep. That is deliberate, and it is the whole design. Nothing in a shallow drawer can bury anything else.
Five drawers, each 3.94 inches deep and 17.9 inches across, spread the storage sideways instead of down: one layer of things per drawer, all of it visible the moment you pull. Four casters mean the chest rolls to the desk when you are working and back beside the bed when you are not. The top carries 45 pounds, a printer or a small monitor, and each drawer 20 pounds. The frame is black metal with rustic brown fronts, and drawer stoppers come in the box, fitted or left out so the drawers lift free for carrying. This is the five drawer unit, 30.12 inches tall. Before it ships, your order is parts-verified: every drawer, panel, caster and stopper counted against the list.
Free US shipping, a 1-year limited warranty, and if anything arrives missing or damaged, the replacement part ships straight to you.

At 3.94 inches deep a drawer holds one layer of things, so what you are looking for is visible the moment you pull it rather than under three other layers.
The drawers come to you
Four casters carry the whole chest, so it sits under the desk while you work and rolls back beside the bed afterwards without anything being carried.
Stoppers if you want them
The box includes drawer stoppers you can fit or leave out, so the drawers either stay captive or lift free to be carried to wherever you are working.
